Why English in Liverpool?
I am a freelance teacher and teacher trainer residing near Liverpool. I have been teaching English as a foreign language for twenty-five years and have gained four specialist qualifications (Cert TESOL/Dip TESOL/ ICT Cert/MA TESOL Ed Tech).
Over the years I have noticed that students of English were becoming increasingly dissatisfied with what they were doing in their classes. Too many students were complaining about doing too much grammar, too many boring exercises, there was too much time listening to the teacher and not enough time for the students to really practise speaking in English.
Add to this the enormous change that has taken place in teaching in terms of technology, and you can see that a language student today is looking for a better, more modern, more efficient and more effective way of learning English. At EiL we are leading the industry into a new era of teaching and learning by offering Project-Based Learning (PBL). The focus is off grammar and very much on teaching you what you don’t know. PBL places the focus on collaboration, critical thinking skills and communication.
So, you will learn English and much more and we believe that these new skills will help you not only in your job, but also with how you use your English online and face-to-face throughout your life. The 21st century needs people not only with good language skills but also with good communication skills and at EiL we want to help you improve yours so you can make faster progress and enjoy learning more! Why not try it?
